Lent 2024 - A Journey Toward Easter Joy
A Lenten Book Companion
Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury, presents the Gospel accounts of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection as viewed through the eyes of those who witnessed them. The Sign and the Sacrifice explores the meaning of the cross and the significance of Christ's resurrection, discussing what these events meant to Jesus' followers in the early years and what they can say to us today.
We’ll break our conversation into two sessions, one in the second week and another in the fifth week of the season of Lent. Join us for conversation, either in-person (in the Barrett Room) or online (via Zoom).
Copies of the book are available in the parish office for a suggested donation of $10.00. It is also available online from a variety of booksellers.
Rector's Forum
During the season of Lent, the Rector’s Forum will explore a study based on Thee Rev'd Hillary D. Raining’s book entitled, Joy in Confession: Reclaiming Sacramental Reconciliation.
The series will begin with some introduction to the rites for Reconciliation in our Book of Common Prayer and continue with a deeper theological exploration of sin, shame, forgiveness, and joy.
We gather each Sunday morning at 9:00AM in the Barrett Room (second floor, above the Parish Hall). Grab a cup of coffee and join us!
Godly Play
Godly Play, a Montessori-based approach to teaching the stories of our faith, is offered each Sunday morning in the St. Luke Room (second floor, above the Parish Hall) at 9:00AM. During the season of Lent, we will be exploring a series entitled, “Faces of Easter,” as we prepare to celebrate the joy of resurrection.
Parents are welcome to remain with their children or join the Rector’s Forum across the hall in the Barrett Room.
The Way of the Cross
The Way of the Cross, also known as the Stations of the Cross, will be prayed each Friday in Lent, beginning February 16, at 12:00PM in the Church. All are welcome!

Way of the Cross - Reflection Guide
Centering Prayer
Lindsey Herring, Director of Christian Formation, will be offering an introduction to Centering Prayer, a contemplative spiritual practice that allows us to quiet the heart and rest in God’s presence, during Lent, beginning at 4:30PM on Wednesdays.
Evening Prayer follows at 5:15PM.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation
The Reconciliation of Penitent, commonly called 'Confession', will be offered each Friday in Lent, from 11:00AM until 12:00PM. Reconciliation is also available at any time by appointment.

Lenten Choral Evensong
Join us for Choral Evensong on Sunday, March 3rd, at 3:00PM in the Church. Led by the parish choir, this service of sung evening prayer includes readings from sacred scripture, ancient prayers set to beautiful music, and a holy space for silence and reflection. All are welcome!
